What is the Association of Caribbean Economists?

The Association of Caribbean Economists (ACE) was founded in 1987, in Kingston, Jamaica. It is a professional and academic organization of economists from the Caribbean, with the following objectives:

  1. To promote professional exchange and collaboration amongst the economists of the Caribbean.
  2. Promote the development of the discipline of economics, including political economy, within the Caribbean, for the purposes of contributing to the economic development and sovereignty of the peoples and states of the Caribbean, and of economic cooperation and integration within the Caribbean.

The Association is governed by an Executive Committee, elected every two years, during our biannual conference. Each language region of the Caribbean has a representative on the Executive Committee. Local associations of economists can also be members.
