DR. DAVID RAMEPRSAD

A graduate of the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, Dr. Rampersad has established the Business Development Office at The University of the West Indies as a successful revenue-generating enterprise. In addition to senior fund-raising roles at Cambridge University and The University of the West Indies (UWI), he has served in the Diplomatic Service of Trinidad & Tobago has a sound knowledge of international development issues. He has extensive experience in bridging the gap between academic institutions and industry, funding gencies
and philanthropic organisations, leveraging significant advantages for all parties. He acts as
the primary interface between the University and the private and multilateral sectors, to identify and develop value-creation opportunities.

LAUREN BOODHOO

Ms. Boodhoo is a graduate of McGill University. She is a former member of the Diplomatic Service of Trinidad & Tobago and an attorney-at-law. Her duties include the provision of legal advice, proposal development and project management for clients. She is also responsible for intellectual property matters.

CHERYLE DUBAY

A member of the Business Development team since 2004, Ms. Dubay has a background in Natural Sciences and an MBA with specialisation in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Her responsibilities include fundraising and writing proposals to support successful revenue-generation strategies, including consultancies.

INDIRA JAGESSAR

Mrs. Jagassar graduated from The University of the West Indies with a BSc in Agriculture and an MSc in Agriculture Economics. She is the recipient of a fellowship in Small Entrepreneurship Promotion and Industrial Assistance from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. Formally trained in planning and project cycle management and ISO quality management and auditing, she joined the Business Development team in 2007. She brings to the University community a wealth of experience in serving the local business community, securing grants and managing major projects funded by the IADB, EU, FAO ,UNDP, UNIDO and the OAS.

FAZAL KARIM
Business Development Manager fazal.karim@sta.uwi.edu

Mr. Karim holds a Diploma in Education, Diploma in Public Administration, an undergraduate degree in Economics and an Executive MBA from The University of the West Indies. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School and the National University of Singapore. His responsibilities include philanthropy, education and training, commercialisation of campus services and workforce development.
