ABOUT ESS

Most professional organizations have student branches that are run by students and are there to assist and mould the future leaders. As such, the Engineering Student’s Society began in the early 1960’s and was revived in 1989 after a short stagnant period. The ESS is the student organization of APETT, which is a representative body of all the engineering students. The Society’s main objectives are: -

  • To promote a professional attitude among its members.
  • To promote a good relationship between its members and the industry.
  • To work in cooperation with the Guild and the Faculty of Engineering for the general improvement, enhancement and advancement of all programmes within the University.
  • To represent the students on both the Guild and the Faculty Board.
  • To present a positive image of the University and of the Engineering Profession to the external environment.
  • To provide services and undertake ventures for its members wherever possible.
What does this mean to you:-
The ESS is YOUR representative. It is your voice on campus. Use it to air all your problems and concerns and to publicize any ideas you may possess for the improvement of any existing systems on campus. Also it should act as one of your primary sources of information. If you wish to know anything about campus life, come visit us and we’ll do our best to get what you request.
In addition, the society seeks to provide recreational activities and informative seminars for the holistic development of engineering students.

We hope we have catered to suit everyone’s needs, feel free to offer your assistance in as many activities as you like. Your involvement will only make you a well rounded individual for the world of work.
