Institute of Critical Thinking

The Institute of Critical Thinking will be established on the campus of The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.

The Institute will be a multidisciplinary research establishment dedicated to the study of the human development and the transformation of education.

The Institute’s scholarly spectrum will be enriched by the work of colleagues from such fields as mathematics, economics, computer science, evolutionary biology, and the humanities including psychology, sociology, and linguistics and from the theoretical vantage points offered by models of life-span psychology, life-course sociology and conceptions of social-historical change. The Institute will also be guided by recent advancements in the post-modern sciences.

Its inquires will be broadly defined, but concentrate on the evolutionary, social, historical, and institutional contexts of human development, as well as examining it from life-span and life-course perspectives with particular attention devoted towards the transformation of the ecology of schooling.
