Aisha Mohammed
Aisha Mohammed currently lives and works in Philadelphia as a freelance reporter, with a focus on music, sexuality, Islam and the Iraq War. Her most recent publication is a critical essay about her pilgrimage to Mecca in an anthology of writings by Muslim-American women titled “Voices of Resistance: Muslim Women on War, Faith and Sexuality.” Other ongoing projects include compiling an anthology of writings by Pakistani American women on the experience of having multiple identities as Pakistanis, Americans, Muslims and women. This winter she plans to visit Pakistan and begin work on a biography of her mother, tentatively titled by her mother as ‘Transformation from a Brat to a Sage”.
