How We Assist

The Office of the Deputy Principal is the Office of Last Resort. It is where students go when they need assistance with matters which they cannot solve through regular channels.

Students come to the Deputy Principal's Office to deal with:

  1. Academic issues and/or
  2. Confidential/Sensitive Issues and General Issues

Academic Issues

Some examples of the academic issues that students want solved include the following:

  1. Review of failing grades
  2. Registration and Administrative matters, such as:
    • Not receiving a timely response from the University on matters relating to registration and examination
    • Undue delays in obtaining transcripts
    • When medical issues prevent you from preparing for or writing exams
    • Requesting consideration when asked to withdraw
    • Being unable to resolve an issue with a teacher

Confidential/Sensitive Issues and General Issues

Students also come to the Deputy Principal's Office for more general issues:

  1. Sometimes they have security issues
  2. Other times they need advice on or to report very sensitive issues which might have occurred while on campus or which might be affecting their performance and experience at the University.
