Student Accommodation Office

The Student Accommodation Office (SAO) provides oversight of Halls of Residence and monitors the provision of off-campus accommodations. The Office processes applications submitted by students, supports the Resident Assistants programme and attends to the needs of the students on the Halls of Residence.

Halls Of Residence

Students are offered accommodation at one of five Halls of Residence, which can accommodate over one thousand, three hundred (1300) students. Milner, Trinity and Canada Hall are all located on the Main Campus. The Joyce Gibson-Inniss Hall located on the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex is for students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences only. The Sir Arthur Lewis Hall of Residence is located a short distance off the Main Campus on the North Campus. Shuttles are assigned to service this Hall to ensure its residents easy access to campus. The multi-ethnic and diverse cultural heritage of residents create a rich social experience as learning is exhibited at the various hall activities including hall concerts, annual dinners, sporting events and other formal and informal gatherings.

Off-Campus Student Accommodation

The majority of the UWI St. Augustine students live off-campus. This department monitors private off-campus accommodations. Students who wish to find private off-campus accommodation can access The UWI’s database by visiting the office or the online database. Before being added to the database, all properties are visited by the accommodation officer to ensure the space is safe and suitable for students.
