Ms. Shani Brathwaite is a research assistant at the Coastal Engineering Department. She completed her Master of Science degree in Coastal Engineering in 2013. Passionate about the coastal environment; she moved on to pursue a Master of Philosophy degree in Civil Engineering the following year. Her study focuses on swash zone processes, with particular attention to wave run-up and how it is linked to infiltration processes. The goal of her work is to improve existing formulae to predict maximum points of wave run-up with considerations on infiltration processes. She is also an aspiring Ph.D. candidate with hopes to make significant strides in the coastal community. Ms. Shani Brathwaite is the co-founder of the Academic Research Group. A group established to foster support and assistance for fellow researchers within the Civil Engineering department.
