Courses - Spanish
Welcome to the CLL Spanish Homepage
Spanish is the third most widely spoken language in the world after Mandarin and English, with approximately 380 million speakers. It is the official language of 20 countries. In addition, it is spoken by almost 20 million people in the United States and it is used daily in the Philippines, Australia, Morocco, Western Sahara and Belize.
Why study Spanish in Trinidad and Tobago?
- Because we are surrounded by Spanish speaking countries with which we have economic and political interests. English being our first language and living where we live, it just makes sense!
- Because we are interested in Latin music, travelling and making friends.
- Because there are many cultural and historical links with our country; just think about Parang at Christmas or pay attention to the names of places in Spanish throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
- Because it is the First Foreign Language of the country and we are surrounded by bilingual signs on the highways and in the streets of Port of Spain, etc…
What does CLL offer?
- Courses in Spanish divided into six levels, from the first level for those who have no previous knowledge of the language and onward. Each level lasts one academic semester long and is taught for four hours per week. The timetables have been adjusted to cater to the busy agendas of U.W.I. students and of those who work.
- Specially designed courses for companies and public and private organizations.
