Welcome

Trinidad and Tobago is the most southerly island of the Caribbean chain. The official language is English. Although Trinidad and Tobago is the island of choice for many South Americans wishing to learn English as a Foreign Language, the programme has attracted participants from the Francophone Caribbean, Europe and even Asia. For the past decade the University of the West Indies has been leading the way in fulfilling that need for English language education. The University of the West Indies offers comprehensive courses in English as a Foreign Language at Elementary, Lower Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced level. Classes are small (8-15 students) so that individual attention and high quality are not compromised.

In addition to a solid education, the islands of Trinidad and Tobago have lots more to offer visiting students. Trinidad, rich in flora and fauna, caters to the needs of nature lovers as well as those interested in a faster pace of life. Port-of-Spain, the capital, is a booming metropolis. Tobago, the smaller and more serene sister isle, is home to endless beaches and a wide array of wildlife. The Trinidad carnival has been dubbed the greatest show on earth. Students coming to this twin island republic can expect a balance of solid education, warm people and fun. An overall enriching and holistic educational experience.
