Liberal Arts

The Liberal Arts Department

Welcome to the Department of Liberal Arts. We are pleased to offer you a choice of vibrant and relevant programmes. Our Department is a multifaceted one. Our highly qualified academic staff members are actively engaged in course delivery, using varied teaching strategies and methods and are involved in a wide range of research interests. You can depend on our administrative staff to assist and guide you in your academic career.

We encourage you to make the most of our Academic Advising programme, and to get involved in the many co-curricular activities in the department, including la Société Française, (l)a Sociedad(e) Latinoamericana, Asosyasyon Kwéyòl, the Linguistics Society, and the Literary Society.

Mission

The Department of Liberal Arts will provide a creative and academically sound programme of teaching and research, which is global in scope, builds human values and articulates the significance of Caribbean expression, culture and identity.

Vision

A Department of Liberal Arts of international stature, providing leadership in teaching and research in language, literature and culture.
