Overview OF PROGRAMMES

The Faculty of Humanities and Education (FHE) emphasizes close student/faculty interactions in all our programmes. All programmes at both the undergraduate and graduate level are designed to achieve balance between depth of knowledge acquired through specialization, and breadth of knowledge gained through exploration of different fields and topics of study. The majority of programmes in FHE are administered by specific departments within the faculty. You may learn more about these programmes by going to our departmental websites, but some programmes, such as the Film Programme and the programme offered by The Writing Centre, are located within the Office of the Dean.

Undergraduate

At the undergraduate level, we offer programmes in single areas of interest, as well as whole programmes hosted jointly by the Schools/Units/Centres in the faculty. Our undergraduate handbook as well as our programme guides are available for download if you want information about these programmes. Whole programmes and individual courses are available for face-to-face study on-campus, off-campus, through the Open Campus and in flexible learning modes.

Graduate

Postgraduate and doctoral level coursework and research programmes are available in many fields and are administered through the School of Graduate Studies and Research.

Certificate and Other

Certificates and Diplomas are available in a variety of fields and areas, from Education to Language Learning. Read the various Department pages, as well as the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Information Guides, for further information. The Office of the Dean recently launched the Certificate in Journalism programme, which is due to start in September, 2011.
