What is the Faculty’s Grading Scheme?
GRADING SCHEME
The Grading Scheme used in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Science Faculty of Science and Agriculture are as follows:
For students entering the Faculty prior to 2002

Class Grade Percentage
First A+ 85-100
A 76-84
A- 70-75
Upper Second B+ 60-69
Lower Second B 50-59
Pass C 40-49


What are the F.S.A. Foundation Courses?
  • UC010 - Fundamentals of Written English

  • FD11B - Academic writing for different disciplines

  • FD11A - Caribbean Civilization

  • FD13A - Law, Governance, Economy and Society
  • Any other course approved for the purpose by the Board of Undergraduate Studies


    What is on the F.S.A. exemption list?
    Exemptions from Level I or specific Level I and Level II courses, and credits for others are granted to students with the following qualification:

    i. Associateship in Science of the JSA/CASE

    • all Level I Agriculture courses

    ii. Diplomates in Agriculture COAJ with GPA>2.70

    • exemption from all Level I courses except AP10C, AP10E and AG14C

    • credits for AM20B and one of AM23B, AM30A, AM30B, AM30C.

    iii. Level I of the B.Sc. Management Studies:

    • all level I Agriculture courses for students entering the B.Sc.. Agri-Business

    iv. Specified Level I Natural Sciences and Social Sciences courses offered at Cave Hill, Mona or St. Augustine (or equivalent qualifications-all Level I courses.)

    v. Diplomates of ECIAF/COAJ/CASE

    • exemptions from AG133, CS11C and CS11D.

    vi. Graduates of COAJ/CASE

    • AG133

    NB: ECIAF diplomates in Forestry would not be exempted from AG133.


    What about the B.Sc. Distance Education courses?
    The Agribusiness Management programme is currently available by distance.

    What are the approved A’Levels courses?
    You can have any two A’levels for admission to the Agribusiness Management Programme.
    For all other degrees the approved Approved Science GCE ‘A’ Level Subjects are:

  • Chemistry

  • Computer Science

  • Geography

  • Geology

  • Applied Mathematics

  • Pure Mathematics

  • Mathematics

  • Physics
