Welcome to the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension of the Faculty of Agriculture and
Natural Sciences, University of the West Indies. Our mission is to facilitate the development of the
socio-economic, educational, and nutritional status of Caribbean peoples through the provision of high
quality teaching, research and outreach, in collaboration with stakeholders of regional agricultural and
related sectors.
To meet this challenge we focus on six main areas of activity: Agricultural Economics, Agricultural
Extension, Communication and Outreach, Human Ecology (Home Economics, Nutrition and Dietetics)
Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship. Join us in this exciting challenge!
