Introduction
We at the Faculty of Social Sciences are pleased
to provide you with a productive learning environment.
Our facilities include comfortable classrooms,
modern computers and teaching equipment. Our end-user
technicians are there to offer help and support
to students and staff. Our instructors, among
the best in the Caribbean, are suitably qualified
with years of experience in offering training
programmes in current software packages (e.g.
spreadsheets, database management, word processing
and web page design) as well basic computer repair
and networking courses. We have provided technical
support and training services to companies in
the industrial and financial sectors such as RBTT
Bank, General Finance Corporation, Caribbean Home
Insurance, ISPAT and Atlantic LNG.
Staff and Students Services
The Computer Laboratory provides computer facilities
and services such as printing and email to all
Social Sciences students and staff. The facility
is also used by teaching staff who wish to introduce
their students to the current technology techniques
used in their various disciplines.
Training Programmes
The Laboratory is also used to conduct a number
of training programmes which are open to the public
as well as members of the university community.
These range from basic computer literacy to the
more advanced networking courses which equip participants
to fulfil the roles of network administrators
and systems engineers.
