Scholarships and Bursaries
Several scholarships and bursaries for undergraduate study are available for Trinidad & Tobago nationals as well as nationals of other English-speaking Caribbean countries. Many of which are freom private and public instiution based in Trinidad and abroad. They are advertised in the local newspapers between September and May of each year. Awards are made primarily on academic merit but there are some bursaries where financial need is the main criterion for the award. These potential sources of income help to supplement your own resources.

Eligibility/Criteria
Bursaries may not be held jointly with any
other award where together the value is more than 25% of maintenance cost plus
tuition fees. Open to all Caricom Nationals who in June 2006, have successfully
completed at least the First Year of threeyear degree programme, or completed
the first year of the MB.BS Phase I examinations in the Faculty of Medical
Sciences.
Academic Bursaries are awarded on the basis of the applicant’s academic record with special reference to his/her performance in the 2006 University examinations – (A’s and B+’s).
Co-Curricular Bursaries are awarded on the basis of the applicant’s contribution to University life as evidence by his/her participation in co-curricular activities. Applicants must indicate the areas in which they have made contribution during the 2004/2005 academic year and must also have their application forms signed by their Dean and/or Director, Student Services, Student Advisory Services. (Normally a minimum ‘B’ average is required).
