Undergraduate Resources - Specials, Majors & Minors

It is possible to obtain a B.Sc. degree with Specials, Majors and Minors.

Special Degrees or specialization programmes provide the grounding required for graduates to be functionally competent in the broad field of management. With a special degree, students do at least fifteen of the twenty courses required at levels two and three of the degree programme in subjects offered by the Department. The Department of Management Studies currently offer special degrees in Accounting , Management Studies, and Banking and Finance.

Majors require students to do ten of twenty courses required at levels two and three from the Department. Although the number of core courses covered are less than that of the specialization, the major provides the flexibility to choose a variety of other courses. The Department currently offer majors in Management Studies, Accounting , Sports Management , Hospitality and Tourism Management (Hospitality Option) , Hospitality and Tourism Management (Tourism Option) and International Tourism Management.

Minors require students to do five level two and three courses in one disciplinary area of management, thereby providing depth of knowledge in that particular field of management. It should be noted that minors, usually accompany a major, or a major and another minor. Minors are offered in Accounting , Human Resource Management , Management Information Systems , Marketing , Finance , Management Studies and Sports Management.
