Research Interests:

Research interests include: renewable energy, algal feedstock production, biofuel production, wastewater treatment, fate and transport of pollutants, and K-12 STEM education


Public Service:
  • Journal Manuscript Reviewer for Ecological Engineering (2015) 
  • “USF Solar Initiative”, Co-principal investigator and team member. Funded by the University of South Florida Student Green Energy Fund (SGEF). Personal involvement encompassed grant writing, proposal review, and implementation of educational kiosk. This project had two phases: retrofit for an existing Marshall Student Center (MSC) and a solar panel amphitheater. The combined systems are expected to produce in excess of 20KW ($160,000 US).   • Principal Investigator. Graduate Student Challenge Grant: Building Research Partnerships Across Disciplines. The project examined sustainability related to mercury use using a multidisciplinary approach, integrating environmental, economic and socio-cultural dynamics ($5000 US). (2008)
