TRINIDAD and TOBAGO

This twin-island country is situated off the east coast of Venezuela, at the most southerly end of the Caribbean island chain.

Trinidad is approximately 40 miles(64 km) wide and 60 miles (96 km) from north to south. The Northern Range has three peaks just over 3000 feet (900 m), whilst Mount Tamana in the Central Range is 1101 feet (333 m). The Trinity hills in the south reach a height of 997 feet (302 m).

Tobago, situated some 20 miles (32 km) off the north-east tip of Trinidad, is a smaller island, about 25 miles (40 km) long by 8 miles (13 km) broad. The Central Ridge rises to just under 2000 (606 m) feet.
