LECTURER IN VETERINARY SURGERY, SMALL ANIMAL SURGERY (ORTHOPAEDICS)

The successful candidate must possess a: 

  • DVM or equivalent
  • M.Sc./Ph.D. in Veterinary Surgery

 with:

  • Considerable post-graduation experience in surgical practice and teaching in a University setting
  • Demonstrated Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue surgical competencies
Special Responsibilities 
  • Teaching in other areas of Surgery outside of the area of expertise
  • Contributing significantly to the development of interdisciplinary clinical courses for the DVM programme and facilitating interdisciplinary research among related disciplines
  • Co-ordinating and overseeing the wide range of Veterinary Surgery and directing post-graduate students in this area
  • Carrying out independent and group research

 

Personal Attributes

The Department places high priority on individuals who can work well in a team environment. Candidates should possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of both oral and written English is essential. Candidates must also:

 

  • Be able to guide undergraduate and post-graduate students
  • Be able to relate well with colleagues and support staff
  • Have familiarity with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method and be willing to participate in Problem-Based Learning (PBL)
