Qualification and Experience

The successful candidate must possess a Postgraduate qualification in Political Sciences at the PhD level, from a recognized University with teaching experience at the University level and specialization in one or more of the following areas:

 

  • Political Theory/Political Thought
  • Public Policy

 

Special Responsibilities

  • Teaching, Research and Curriculum Developments in the field of Political Science and Public Policy at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate level
  • Supervising post-graduate students
  • Engaging in ongoing personal research, as well as, departmentally-initiated research activities
  • Networking the Department with various national, regional, and International Organizations/Stakeholders in furtherance of the Department

 

Personal Attributes

The Department places high priority on individuals who can work well in a team and student friendly environment. Candidates should also possess good communication and interpersonal. A good command of both oral and written English is essential. Candidates must also:

  • Be able to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Be able to effectively interact with students and faculty
  • Be able to enrich the intellectual capital of the Department through his/her research and teaching activities
  • Have a strong research agenda indicating the ability to publish in high quality journals
