Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must possess a PhD in Law with a proven track record of research and publication in the field of Law and a demonstrable output or interest relating to research in areas of law relevant to the Caribbean. Further consideration will be given to candidates who have experience teaching at the tertiary level.


Special Responsibilities


  • Contributing to teaching in one or more of the core subjects of the LLB degree, in particular, Real Property, Tort, Criminal Law and Equitable Remedies
  • Delivering and developing optional final year course programs, in particular, subject areas in Corporate and Commercial Law; Trade and Business Law; and Conflicts of Laws. These include courses such as: International Trade; Company Law; Revenue Law; Caribbean Integration Law; Insurance Law; Private International Law; Financial Law and European Union Law
  • Participating in the development of the Faculty’s Graduate programme, including the supervision of PhD Law students.



Personal Attributes

The Faculty of Law places high priority on individuals of integrity who can work well in a team and student friendly environment. Candidates should also possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of both oral and written English is essential. Candidates must also have a demonstrated interest in CARICOM regional development, and institutional and capacity building.
