CANQATE 7th annual conference and meeting

Themed Continuously Enhancing The Quality Of Higher Education For Global Competitiveness, the 7th annual Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE) conference and meeting will be held from 23rd-26th November, 2010, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The CANQATE conference and meeting offers a platform for academics, teachers, educational administrators, training coordinators, quality assurance professionals, government officials and industry personnel, to share experiences, present research results and review recent developments in the area of quality in tertiary education.

  • Enhancing quality in higher education through faculty and staff development
  • Building quality into an institution’s operations 
  • Achieving a competitive advantage through quality assurance 
  • Leveraging Information and Communications Technology (ICT) towards continuous improvement in higher education institutions 
  • Ensuring stakeholder satisfaction through future focused strategies

  • Presenters’ confirmation of attendance: 15th September, 2010
  • Submission of Full Papers: 22nd October, 2010
  • Submission of Power Point Presentations: 5th November, 2010

Membership guidelines

CANQATE membership is open to all countries.

There are three types of Membership and Annual Membership Fees:

  • Full – organizations such as accrediting agencies, universities and other tertiary institutions, evaluation agencies and similar organizations within the region responsible for assuring the academic quality of tertiary institutions or education programmes. Annual fee - US$100.
  • Associate – organizations with a major interest in evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance in higher education, but without the responsibility of assuring quality for institutions or education programmes. Annual Fee - US$75.
  • Individual – persons who are interested in and/or involved in quality assurance. Annual Fee - US$50. 

Pre-Conference Workshop Registration: US$100

Conference Registration - Members: US$400                                                     

Non-Members: US$450 

Early Bird Deadline: 30th September, 2010  

Early Bird Special Rate (Members): US$375

Group Rate (groups of 5 persons from the same institution/agency): US$320 per person

Students’ Rate: US$250

Presenters’ Rate: US$300

Day Pass: US$140 per day
