The UWI’s Faculty of Humanities and Education (FHE) encourages all students to take advantage of its Writing Centre. A part of the Faculty’s English Language Foundation Programme, the centre was established to help students develop their abilities to plan, organise and revise their academic papers, work through all stages of the writing process and make them aware of the need for developing language skills for the workplace.
The Writing Centre is located on the 3rd Floor FHE (New) Building and is open for one-on-one consultations with writing coaches from Monday to Friday. Each session lasts 30 minutes. Writing coaches at the Writing Centre are all members of the English Language Foundation Programme who have had extensive training and experience in teaching academic writing.
Students wishing to take advantage of these services must visit the Writing Centre to make an appointment, although walk-ins are also accepted once a writing coach is on site. The Writing Centre is open to all students from all faculties.
Please note: THE WRITING CENTRE WILL NOT BE OFFERING ITS SERVICES DURING THE SUMMER PERIOD.
