Call for Papers: COTE 2012

The Department of Economics, UWI, St. Augustine, invites submissions of paper abstracts for its sixth annual Conference on the Economy (COTE), carded to take place from 11th-12th October, 2012, at the Learning Resource Centre, UWI, St Augustine Campus.  

COTE 2012 is an annual landmark event of the Department at which findings from quality research and other studies are presented to inform our stakeholders on economic and social policy. This year, COTE 2012 coincides with the 50th Anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago’s Independence and the conference will focus on the theme 50 years of Managing for Development in an Ever Changing Economic Environment: Lessons learnt and the way forward.  

Abstracts for papers on the following sub-themes are invited:

  • Macroeconomic Environment
  • Resource & Environmental Issues (Disaster Preparedness)
  • Petroleum and the Downstream sector
  • Trade & ICT
  • Regulatory Economics

 

Guidelines for Completing Abstracts:

  • All abstracts are to be submitted in English
  • Abstracts should be limited to 250 words
  • The abstract must make reference to the conference theme and indicate the sub-theme under which it is submitted
  • Abstracts must include the names of the authors and contact information for the lead author
  • All abstracts must include the aims, methodology and findings of the paper 
  • All abstracts should be emailed to uwi.cote@gmail.com

 

Applicants will be notified of acceptance by 27th August 2012. 

 

Deadlines:

  • Submission of Abstracts: Friday 17th August, 2012
  • Submission of completed papers for conference presenters: Monday 24th September, 2012
  • Submission of PowerPoint presentations: Monday 1st October, 2012
