Congratulations Jehue

UWI student and star athlete, Jehue Gordon, competed in the finals of the Men’s 400m Olympic Hurdle on Monday 6th August, 2012. Following his spectacular performance in the final race and throughout the games, the Campus community has many messages of congratulations, pride, encouragement and support for him. Here’s some of what was said:

Professor Rhoda Reddock, UWI St. Augustine Campus Deputy Principal: “On behalf of the St. Augustine Campus and the entire University of the West Indies, I would like to congratulate you on your sterling performance. We are extremely proud of you. Given your youthfulness, we expect you to continue on your path of excellence, providing inspiration to other student athletes as we continue to support you in the achievement of your academic and athletic goals.”  

Charisse Broome, Coordinator, Sports Management Programme, UWI Faculty of Social Sciences (via Facebook): “Well run and well represented Jehue. You did not disappoint…even your namesake. You've created history and created an excellent example for young men like yourself. Keep your head high and your legs moving. God isn't finished with you yet. Blessings in abundance.”  

UWI Alumni Association Trinidad and Tobago Chapter (via Facebook): “We are indeed proud of this young man's accomplishments.”  

Candice Allain, Vice President, UWI St. Augustine Guild of Students: “On behalf of the Guild, I’d like to say that we’re elated that he made it to the Olympics, being one of our very own. We support him 1000 per cent and we wish him the best in all his future endeavours. He has made us very proud.”
