The Faculty of Social Sciences, Professional Development programme presents the following Computer Lab Training Courses starting in April that take place at the Social Sciences Computer Laboratory:

  • CompTIA IT Fundamentals – Duration 8 weeks (24 hours) | April 22 to June 10 | 9am to noon | Cost: $2,500

About CompTIA IT Fundamentals

The CompTIA IT Fundamentals is the first step in the IT education process. It's ideal if you're considering a career in IT or if you work in an allied field that requires a broad understanding of IT.

  • Microsoft Office 2013 Essentials – Duration 8 weeks (24 hours) | April 22 to June 10 | 9.30am to 12.30pm | Cost: $2,000

About Microsoft Office 2013

This is designed for persons with little or no knowledge of Office 2013. It will allow users to be proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint 2013.

  • Microsoft Office 2013 Intermediate – 12 Weeks (36 Hours) | May 6 to July 22 | 1.30 to 4.30pm | Cost: $3,000

About Microsoft Office 2013 Intermediate

This course is designed for the user who is already familiar in using the MS Office Suite. Participants will be able to build on what was covered in the Microsoft Office 2013 Essentials course. 

  • Introduction to SPSS – 6 Weeks (18 Hours) | May 1 to 5 | 5 to 8.30pm | Cost: $1,600

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) is a comprehensive and popular software package for analyzing data and can take data from almost any type of file and use it to generate tabulated reports, charts, and plots of distributions and trends, descriptive statistics, and complex statistical analysis.
