CAPS presents Unwind Your Mind

The Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) presents Unwind Your Mind for staff and students to find out more about CAPS, de-stress and have fun!

Check it out on March 14 from noon to 5 pm on the Greens at Learning Resource Centre (LRC).

Learn about UWI Support Services including:

  • Peer counselling association
  • Support for study skills, disability, financial support and more
  • Learn about co-curricular programme as well as community engagement opportunities – UWI Students will have items on sale as part of their fundraising efforts for their travel abroad.

Scheduled activities under the trees:

  • 1pm | Capoeira
  • 2pm | Self-Defense
  • 3pm | Calming Jar Workshop* (in the Chill Tent, see below)
  • 4pm | Yoga
  • 5pm | Meditation

Relax in the Chill Tent where you can:

  • Make a stress reliever or create their own calming jar –Persons are encouraged to bring a clean jar (glass or plastic, with a lid) or they can purchase a mason jar for $15
  • Enjoy the calming beads bar
  • Mindful colouring  and create watercolour hope cards
  • Sensory therapy station – this should include a Head Scratcher, mini massage, and a sensory bin.
  • Create their own personal Stress-Relief Kit for $10
  • Learn the basics of Mindful Eating
  • Fitness fun, including hula hoop championships

And there’ll be massages and puppies:

  • Massage therapists will also be offering free massage during the afternoon.
  • Animal therapy with puppies and bunnies.
