Posted Tuesday, November 03, 2009

Dr. Edward Cantin, Polyclinic Co-ordinator at The UWI School of Dentistry, died on Friday October 23rd, 2009. He served in this position for eleven years, from 1998-2009.

A few days after becoming ill, Dr. Cantin travelled to the US for treatment. Though it was reported that all went well and he was recovering quickly, he suddenly took a turn for the worse and on Friday morning, passed away.

Dr. Cantin served the School of Dentistry with dynamism, distinction, dedication and great skill, performing complex tasks tempered with a human touch. He was well-known for his energetic approach toward solving School problems with his great charm, innumerable jokes and wide smile. Without exception he was liked by all.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday 5th November, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Amphitheatre A at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mount Hope.

The School coveys its condolences to his wife Jacque and his other kith and kin. May his soul rest in peace.
