Dawn-Marie De Four-Gill

Editor-in-Chief

Dawn Marie De Four GillEditor of The Pelican Mrs. Dawn-Marie De Four-Gill heads the Marketing & Communications functions for both the tri-campus University (as a whole) and the St. Augustine Campus.

It was shortly after her appointment as University Director of Marketing & Communications in 2005 that Dawn-Marie engineered a plan to bring Vice Chancellor E. Nigel Harris’ vision for a University Magazine to fruition. Dawn, together with her Marketing & Communications Officer, Rhonda masterminded the creative brief which was later fine-tuned and adopted by the Editorial team as the framework for this modern publication.

Dawn-Marie started her career at The University of the West Indies in 1997 as a Research Assistant to the Pro Vice Chancellor of Planning & Development at the St. Augustine Campus, and moved on to Business Officer, and later, Campus Director of Marketing and Communications, a post which she holds dually with her duties as University Director. Dawn has over 7 years of publication experience. She has been the editor-of-chief for the St. Augustine Campus’ Annual & Faculty Reports, Prospectuses and other recruitment and marketing materials, since 1999.

This former honours student of The University of the West Indies holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management with a major in Marketing and a Minor in Finance, as well as a Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) degree with distinction from City University Business School in the UK.

Former incarnations of Rhonda include Research Assistant, Marketing & Communications Assistant, and Publications Coordinator (all manifestations working at the UWI St. Augustine Campus).
