UWI COOPERATIVE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Who can participate?: Students who have just completed 2nd year.

The Co-operative Training Programme is geared towards providing students with the opportunity to acquire structured exposure to the world of work. It facilitates the linkage between classroom theory and the realities in the workplace. The programme would involve attachments with various companies for a one-year period.

During this period students are not expected to attend classes, tutorials, labs or write exams. Co-op participants will be paid during the duration of the programme and will still have access to the campus facilities.



GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT

Who can register?: Final year students only

This programme is designed to assist final year students in securing internship/employment with leading companies in corporate Trinidad and Tobago and the CARICOM Region. It is part of the WOW programme and students must submit their resumes through that programme to be considered. SAS would assist students in finding their first job only. Resumes are sent to requesting employers.

Submission of a resume to Student Advisory Services is NOT a guarantee of employment.

CARICOM Nationals who wish to work in Trinidad and Tobago can also visit our office to collect relevant documents to apply for the certificate. Interested persons MUST be in possession of an undergraduate degree to be eligible for the certificate.



VACATION EMPLOYMENT

This programme provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in their respective fields over the three-month semester break. Forms can be collected at the beginning of the second semester and must be submitted to Student Advisory Services by the end of February to be considered for employment in the ensuing vacation.
