Rules and Regulations for indoor court
- Only athletes and designated officials are allowed on the multipurpose court
- Athletes must wear soft rubber soled closed up footwear on the multipurpose court
- Users must wipe their footwear on the mats before going on the multipurpose court
- Athletes are required to attire themselves in the standard or appropriate gear for their respective sport
- Changing of clothes must be done only in the designated changing rooms
- Ball playing is not allowed in the corridors or changing rooms
- Glass bottles and glass containers are not allowed on the multipurpose court or anywhere inside of the centre
- No eating or drinking is allowed on the multipurpose court
- In the event of any liquids spilling on the multipurpose or anywhere inside of the centre, Maintenance must be informed immediately
- Furniture or other objects should not be placed on the multipurpose court without Management’s approval and supervision
- Any marking or placing of adhesive tapes on the multipurpose court must be approved and supervised by Management
- Equipment should not be tampered with or adjusted without Management’s approval and supervision
- No smoking is allowed inside the Centre
- All litter must be placed in bins provided
- The corridors leading to the multipurpose court and the aisles of the spectator stands must be kept clear at all times
- Obscene language, fighting, unsportswoman or unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated anywhere in the Centre
- Management reserves the right to remove from the Centre anyone found in breach of the above rules and regulations
Rules and Regulations for gym membership
- Applicants for membership should complete an application form and submit it to the gymnasium reception together with payment receipt for the first period of membership.
- Payment should be made to the Bursary cashier into account # 3312 7512 5611-6. A receipt should be issued to you upon payment.
- The management of the University of the West Indies shall have absolute discretion to reject an application for or renewal of membership without ascribing any reason for doing so.
- Every member shall hold a current membership card, which shall be produced on every occasion a member uses the facility.
- You cannot lend your membership card to another person. If another person uses your card, we may end your membership. We will not refund your membership subscription.
- Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Before using the gymnasium facilities, all members must sign in at the gymnasium reception desk, showing their membership card.
- The management of The University of the West Indies may at any time terminate the membership of any member.
- Suitable training shoes must be worn in the gymnasium and aerobics areas.
- Bags and glass containers are not allowed in the gymnasium area.
- Only assigned towels are to be used in the gymnasium.
- Members must pay a twenty ($20) dollar bill (no change), to secure the use of the gymnasium towels. When the towel is returned at the end of a session, your twenty ($20) dollar bill will be returned.
- Eating chewing gum and drinking (except for water or re-hydrating drinks), are not allowed in the gymnasium area.
- Members are responsible for ensuring that while they are on the gymnasium premised, they do nothing to risk injury to themselves or any other person.
- Members are advised to wear comfortable, suitable clothing for training or exercise classes.
- Members must ensure that they are medically fit to undertake any particular activity and in particular should not us the gymnasium facilities whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
- Smoking is not permitted on the gymnasium premises.
- Members are advised not to leave money or valuables in the gymnasium.
- Members should comply with directions given by the gymnasium management and supervising STAFF.
- Membership cards cannot be frozen for any reason.
- Membership cards cannot be backdated.
- By their membership, members accept to be bound to the rules of the gymnasium.
