“Before joining UWI in 2001, I held several academic positions and worked in industry as an operations executive, researcher, engineer and consultant in Hong Kong and the UK. I came to UWI out of a belief that it would allow me to further develop my academic career. UWI is the leading university in the Caribbean, and a big family. In 2004 I received tenure here and was one of the youngest faculty members to be promoted to the rank of Professor. That year, I married my wife Rebecca in Hong Kong and convinced her to join me in Trinidad & Tobago. Our first child, Ka Hei, was born here in 2006. The change from bachelor to husband and father is an amazing experience despite the busy academic life at UWI.”
