“On completion of my PhD at TUNS, I was the feature speaker at a function to celebrate graduate students. As we sat at the head table, the Chancellor, President and Chairman of Graduate Studies all took turns trying to recruit me. Finally I had to make it clear that my only intention was to return to The University of the West Indies and dedicate myself to the service of the Caribbean. The culmination of many remarkable events in my life was being awarded the 2008 World Congress of Arts, Sciences and Communications Lifetime Achievement Award. I would like to be remembered for these achievements as well as my work in Quality Management Systems and its application to the Manufacturing Sectors in the Caribbean, as we compete in the international arena.”
