The Heritage Chinese for Kids Programme

A heritage language refers to any language other than English that is spoken by an individual or a community. Heritage language learners have some proficiency in and a cultural connection to that language through family, community or country of origin.

The Confucius Institute’s Heritage Chinese for Kids Programme is a language development programme designed to address the language learning needs of children of native Mandarin Chinese speakers in Trinidad and Tobago. The Heritage language programme is offered at two proficiency levels (Beginner & Advanced), with a placement test on the first day of class to place students at the right competency level.
