Context and Background

Data has become a driving force behind business decisions in today’s world. This four-day workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of data analytics, focusing on generating datasets and extracting insights from data to inform strategy. Participants will learn how to create and examine datasets, interpret trends, and effectively communicate findings through visual representations.

The Facilitator

Dr. Meena RambocasDr. Meena Rambocas is a Lecturer in Marketing at the Department of Management Studies, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. She specializes in Marketing Science, with a strong focus on leveraging data analytics to support strategic decision-making, customer insights, and marketing effectiveness. Dr. Rambocas has published extensively in internationally recognized scholarly journals such as the International Journal of Research in Interactive Marketing, Journal of Global Marketing, IEEE Transactions on Education, International Business Review, Journal of Services Marketing, and the International Journal of Bank Marketing. Her research interests span service marketing, branding, small business and entrepreneurship, international marketing, and the application of data analytics in education and business. She is particularly interested in how data can be used to drive innovation and improve outcomes across sectors.

When and Where

The workshop will be hosted by the Business Development Unit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of the West Indies. It will utilize interactive pedagogy strategies to promote an engaging learning experience. You will be able to join this workshop via Zoom to participate in discussions, interactive presentations, group exercises, resource videos, and valuable articles and case examples where applicable.
