This course will explore the strategic and tactical dimensions of project and programme management. The course will address foundation and advanced principles associated with the management of projects and programmes in today’s complex and dynamic business environment. Critical project and programme management tools and techniques associated with key Project Management Bodies of Knowledge will be addressed. These tools and techniques include, Internal and External Analyses, Turner’s 7 Forces, Project Appraisal and Selection Models, Project Charter, Work Breakdown Structures, Project Schedules, Risk Management Frameworks and Earned Value Management. Student will also be introduced to critical aspects of the Project Management Office, Project Management Maturity Models and Project Management Methodologies. The course will be delivered using lectures, project- based learning, problem-based learning, class discussions, and group presentations. Assessments will be conducted via written coursework, groups presentations and examination.
