She became the youngest magistrate in Trinidad and Tobago in 1990, later serving as Senior Magistrate, President of the Family Court of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Deputy Chief Magistrate in Trinidad. In 2009, she became the first woman appointed Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission. In 2011, she was appointed President of the Industrial Court, the first female to hold that position. Internationally, she has served as a Judge and President of the United Nations Appeals Tribunal and was the first Caribbean national to be appointed to the International Monetary Fund Administrative Tribunal. In 2015, she was appointed to the International Labour Organisation\u2019s Committee of Experts, a prestigious group of 20 global legal experts overseeing international labour standards. This growing demand highlights the urgent need for accessible, evidence-based training and resources to better support families and professionals.<\/p><p>This interactive workshop series, hosted by the School of Education at The University of the West Indies, aims to empower parents, teachers, and professionals with the tools they need to support children with ADHD. She earned a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick, Canada, an M.A. degree in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University, USA, and a PhD in Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, UK. Dr. Louison\u2019s research interests include individual differences in intelligence and achievement, measurement of learning potential, and cross-cultural interpretive models in psychometric assessment. She has been administering psychological and developmental assessments to children both in Trinidad and Tobago and the USA since 1996. She has also provided clinical supervision to early career psychologists, consultation services to parents, teachers and agencies in Trinidad and Tobago, and has worked in varied settings including governmental departments, NGOs, and private clinical practice.<br \/><\/span><\/p><h4><strong>Dr. Nadia Laptiste-Francis<\/strong><\/h4><p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1553 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sta.uwi.edu\/cpe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/nadia-laptiste-francis.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Nadia Laptiste-Francis\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" \/><\/span><\/p><p>Dr. Nadia Laptiste-Francis is an Assistant Professor in Special Needs Education at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT). She earned her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Special Needs Education from the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) in 2010. She was subsequently awarded a national scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine (UWI). She completed both her Master of Education and Doctoral degrees specializing in Inclusive and Special Education at that institution.<\/p><p>As a teacher educator and inclusive education consultant, Dr. Laptiste-Francis has twenty (20) years of experience in special needs education, educational research and teacher training collectively. She has worked and trained extensively within Trinidad and Tobago\u2019s public education system and also in higher education at The UWI and UTT. Regionally, she has worked with the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC), in collaboration with the Government of Guyana to provide teacher training in special education to both primary and secondary level teachers.<\/p><p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">In these roles, Dr. Laptiste-Francis has supported multiple stakeholders in diversity awareness, inclusive pedagogy, and inclusive policy development. It is her ultimate goal to equip individuals and teams with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to realize the vision of an equitable, culturally responsive inclusive education system of the 21st century.<br \/><\/span><\/p><h4><strong>Ms. Toni Betaudier<\/strong><\/h4><p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1554 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sta.uwi.edu\/cpe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/toni-betaudier.jpg\" alt=\"Ms. Toni Betaudier\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" \/><\/span>Ms. Toni Betaudier is a School Psychologist with a Master of Education degree in School Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. Since returning to Trinidad and Tobago, she has worked with several organizations, including the Caribbean Kids and Families Organisation (an NGO), the Ministry of Education, and in private practice.<\/p><p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Ms. Betaudier specializes in assessments and provides consultations and psychoeducation to parents, as well as counseling for children. She also conducts professional development workshops for educators, focusing on areas such as disability awareness, behavior management, and socioemotional and sexual development. Her professional interests include culturally informed practices, literacy development, and social-emotional learning.<br \/><\/span><\/p><h4><strong>Mrs. Allison Luke Teelucksingh<\/strong><\/h4><p><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1555 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sta.uwi.edu\/cpe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/04\/allison-luke-teelucksingh.jpg\" alt=\"Mrs. Allison Luke Teelucksingh\" width=\"180\" height=\"217\" \/>Mrs. Allison Teelucksingh is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst with a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction ABA from Arizona State University, a Postgraduate Certificate in ABA Advanced Series from Florida Institute of Technology, and an MBA in Business Management.<\/p><p>Allison works primarily with students aged 2 to 12 years old who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
