Prequalification Process For Contractors, Suppliers And Registered Consultants

The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus has developed a pre-qualification process for Contractors, Suppliers and registered Consultants in the Construction field (Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors etc.) for consideration in future capital and infrastructure projects.

The objective of this pre-qualification process is to obtain the most accurate, complete and recent information on prospective tenderers and to identify firms which are qualified and capable of undertaking the University’s capital projects. This prequalification process will normally be advertised every three (3) years.

The St. Augustine Campus will advertise in the daily newspapers or via the internet and invite applications from interested firms who wish to pre-qualify and be listed in the University’s Register of Contractors, Suppliers and registered Consultants.

All firms interested in working with the UWI are required to complete the appropriate application provided in this website and pay a non-refundable application fee of  two hundred dollars (TT$200.00) at the Cashiers at the Bursary Section of the Main Administration Building, UWI St. Augustine Campus.

Instructions on completing the Pre-qualification Application

1. Familiarize yourself with the requirements of the application provided on this website.
2. Print and complete the application. Please ensure that you complete all applicable information about your firm. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All questions must be answered. If a question does not apply to your firm, please enter “Not Applicable” or “N/A” as your response. The person completing the application on behalf of the firm must be an officer who is knowledgeable about past & present projects as well as the qualifications of the firm.
3. Submit the completed pre-qualification application along with all supporting documentation and a copy of your receipt of payment of the application fee to the Campus Projects Office. Failure to submit your payment receipt with your pre-qualification application will result in your application being rejected. Bid Evaluation

Pre-qualification applications are provided for the following types of firms:

1. Contractors-(General, Civil & Structural Works)
2. Suppliers
3. Registered Consultants (Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors etc.)

Once pre-qualified, firms will be placed on the University’s Register of Contractors, Suppliers and registered Consultants. Pre-qualification does not guarantee that your firm will be solicited or awarded any particular contract. In order to remain pre-qualified your firm is required to complete a new application every three (3) years.
