Project Brief

This spanking new multi-storey building includes 3 Lecture Theatres seating from 200 to 400 students, 2 Lecture Rooms seating 90 students each, 8 Tutorial/Seminar/Teaching Rooms seating 20 to 25 students each, Offices for the CETL and Specialized Life Sciences and Chemistry Labs for the Faculty of Science and Technology. Construction commenced on site in September 2008 with a completion date of August/September 2010. It was eventually completed in October 2013. The original contractor however fell behind schedule and could not complete the project in the timeframe. This contract was therefore terminated in January 2011 and a Construction Manager together with existing and new contractors were engaged by The UWI to complete the project. The project is now completed  and is currently occupied and in use with minor defects being currently corrected. The total project cost is estimated at $120 million, including for FF&E, Multi-Media/Audio-Visual Installation and Design Consulting
