In the interest of ensuring highest standards of work accepted for publication, we follow stringent review procedures, which have been fully supported by our team of distinguished international editorial advisors.
The Publication Board of the Faculty of Engineering at The University of the West Indies takes this opportunity to express deep gratitude for their continued support. At times, there are inadvertent delays in completing the reviews hence delays in the publication of the Journal.
Despite our best efforts, both the readership of the Journal and the involvement of our local practicing professional engineers, in its growth and development, continue to be limited. In an effort to expand e Journal's readership and provide Caribbean professional with greater involvement in its development, we invite you once again, to join us by way of writing articles/papers for possible publications, and also by advising your colleagues in the profession to subscribe to the Journal.
The new millennium has posed several challenges to us. In this period, the technology is advancing so rapidly that unless we (all) join hands and strive for closer relationships, sharing relevant information and experiences, we cannot be efficient and competitive. It is our hope that the Journal will foster the desired relationships between our colleagues in the profession.
Finally, we wish to reiterate that the success of any Journal such as the West Indian Journal of Engineering depends on its readership, hence we seek your critical appraisal as well as constructive suggestions for its improvement.Anil K. Sharma
