_builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;||2px||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]\n<p>Invigilators work under the direction of a Chief Invigilator and assist with the effective administration of written examinations.<br \/>Responsibilities may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Reporting to the assigned examination venue at the prescribed time, which will be no less than one hour before the examination begins.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing the examination room and arranging approved examination materials.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with the orderly admission and seating of candidates.<\/li>\n<li>Distributing question papers, answer books and other authorised materials.<\/li>\n<li>Confirming candidates\u2019 attendance and identifying absentees.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining constant watchfulness throughout the examination.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that silence and order are maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Preventing candidates from accessing unauthorised materials or receiving unfair assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Referring candidates\u2019 questions and examination irregularities to the Chief Invigilator.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring late arrivals and candidates who are permitted to leave the room.<\/li>\n<li>Collecting, checking and securely organising examination scripts and related materials.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that no scripts, question papers or examination materials are left behind.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with the accurate completion of examination records and reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Protecting Examination Integrity&#8221; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;||2px||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]\n<p>Throughout each examination, Invigilators are expected to remain vigilant and ensure that candidates do not:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate with one another.<\/li>\n<li>Copy from another candidate.<\/li>\n<li>Consult unauthorised books, notes or electronic devices.<\/li>\n<li>Access any form of unfair assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Create a disturbance that affects the proper conduct of the examination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any suspected irregularity must be reported immediately to the Chief Invigilator for formal action in accordance with the University\u2019s Assessment Regulations.<br \/>Invigilators must not interpret examination questions, advise candidates on the content of a paper or comment on a possible error. Invigilators must report at the time stated in their assignment instructions.
