Programme Overview<\/h4>\n

Environmental Resilience and Sustainability Programme<\/h4>\n

The United Nations\u2019 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development provides a global framework for advancing sustainability, yet its implementation poses unique challenges for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) such as those in the Caribbean. Limited land space, smaller economies, and vulnerability to natural disasters and climate change intensify these challenges. Despite growing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), there remains a shortage of formal postgraduate training to build the necessary expertise in these regions. This programme is designed to bridge that gap by linking the global sustainability agenda to the specific realities and development needs of SIDS.
All courses are either blended (maximum of 60% online) or fully delivered online.<\/p>\n

PROGRESSION FROM CERTIFICATE TO DIPLOMA TO MSC
This postgraduate programme is designed with a flexible laddering structure that allows students to progress from the Postgraduate Certificate to the Postgraduate Diploma, and subsequently to the Master of Science (MSc) degree. This structure also provides exit points at each stage for students who are unable to complete the higher-level award.<\/p>\n

Postgraduate Certificate to Postgraduate Diploma
Students who are enrolled in the Postgraduate Certificate programme may apply to transition to the Postgraduate Diploma in their second semester, subject to the payment of any applicable additional fees.
Graduates of the Postgraduate Certificate may also apply for entry into the Postgraduate Diploma within five (5) years of completing the Certificate.
Students who are unable to complete the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma may exit with the Postgraduate Certificate.<\/p>\n

Entry Requirements<\/h4>\n

Eligible applicants for the programme may possess:<\/p>\n

  1. Have a bachelor\u2019s degree from a recognised University; OR<\/li>\n
  2. \u00a0Have previous equivalent level of education and relevant experience which would be acceptable to the University;<\/li>\n
  3. \u00a0Mature students who do not satisfy the above requirements but who have considerable work experience and who
    are deemed capable of achieving the standard of work required for the programmes may be permitted to enter
    these programmes at the discretion of the Faculty and the University.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
