Both locally based and overseas nationals are welcome to apply.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Qualifications and Experience:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The successful candidate must possess:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An advanced degree in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management or similar field, with experience in Project Management, Business Administration, Development Management or similar field.<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of biodiversity, soil and land management, climate change, rehabilitation and restoration, landscape and watershed management, forestry and monitoring, and evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Candidates should also possess:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>At least seven (7) years professional experience in agriculture, natural resource management, environmental management or a similar field;<\/li>\n<li>At least five (5) years experience in management of development projects;<\/li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge of the national context;<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of and dealings with national institutions;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in preparation and\/or implementation of projects with international organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in workshop facilitation and coordination of multidisciplinary teams;<\/li>\n<li>Writing technical reports according to UN quality standards;<\/li>\n<li>At least 2-3 years of experience supervising and motivating others including multi-disciplinary teams, staff and consultants;<\/li>\n<li>Experience with working with senior government officials, NGOs, and local communities;<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and presentation skills in English, and an ability to prepare appropriate and timely reports to multiple audiences including donors, government, community and private sector;<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of environmental and social safeguards and gender issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Other Skills:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning and organizing: Ability to establish a coherent course of action to achieve goals, ability to translate plans into actions, organize work, monitor &amp; and<\/li>\n<li>Personal credibility: Has high regards for self-discipline, good attendance record, respect punctuality and set example to others, show consistency in words and actions, has high integrity and is conscientious.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Reporting Lines: <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Under the direct supervision of the Project Steering Committee and The University of the West Indies (St. Augustine Campus).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Objectives of the Assignment: <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The National Technical Project Coordinator (NTPC) will have direct responsibility for the overall day-to-day operations and management of the project and will lead on providing technical oversight to partners, project planning, programming, execution, monitoring, and evaluation, in accordance with the approved workplan(s), procurement plan(s) and budget(s).<\/p>\n<p>The NTPC will also provide quality control to ensure that the project objectives are met and within timeframes set.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Specific Responsibilities: <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Technical Tasks <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The incumbent will carry out the following functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Component 1<\/u><\/strong> (8% dedication): Assist with building ownership with stakeholders who will compile data and use NCAA in decision-making by establishing a multi-sectoral working group to guide the design of a roadmap for including the agriculture\/forest sector into NCAA; spearhead the integration of AFOLU into T&amp;T\u2019s environmental monitoring and information systems; assist with executing workshops and learning-by-doing programmes; provide technical support and assess the outputs of national consultants, as well as the products generated in the implementation of the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Component 2<\/u><\/strong> (38% dedication): Spearhead the employ of NbS, such as RECSOIL and the ridge-to-reef approach to restore and renaturalise areas, that address erosion, low agricultural yields, flood and drought and drought risk, and diminished ecological connectivity, to increase the natural capital in the project; assist with executing Global Soil Doctors and learning-by-doing programmes; provide technical support and assess the outputs of national consultants, as well as the products generated in the implementation of the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Component 3<\/u><\/strong> (27% dedication): Support the mainstreaming of natural capital principles and practice in the private sector in the Caribbean; assist with the development of a mentoring programme to support capacity building for entrepreneurs to create sustainable businesses; and supporting the development of marketing campaigns to improve the visibility of ecotourism assets and farm-to-table experiences that support community, private sector, nature-positive businesses; provide technical support and assess the outputs of national consultants and partners, as well as the products generated in the implementation of the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Component 4<\/u><\/strong> (27% dedication): Assist with the development of a learning strategy and action plan, a communication strategy and action plan and a multiscale knowledge management strategy and action plan, including the regional and global levels; ensure that there is gender balance within the scope of the project, that appropriate target beneficiaries are the subject of interventions, that data is not being lost, that results are relevant, that activities are appropriate for delivering the types of results required, that resources are used efficiently and effectively, that interventions are not duplicated and there is effective collaboration with other initiatives; assist with organizing and participation in mid-term and terminal evaluations in close coordination with the FAO BH and the independent FAO OED.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project Management Tasks <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the organization of the Project Inception Workshop, combined with the 1st PSC meeting, within three (3) months of project launch. Working closely with the National Technical Project Coordinator to ensure quality reporting and document control.\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\n<strong>Specific Responsibilities: <\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>Technical Tasks <\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe incumbent will carry out the following functions:\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Prepare\/type documents (progress reports, work plans, ToRs and other materials and correspondence) and facilitate meeting arrangements and other events of the project;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Review outgoing correspondence and documentation for correct format, grammar, spelling and conformance with FAO Style and country policies and procedures, attach necessary background information and maintain a follow-up system;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Ensure that ToRs and contracts for project personnel and\/or partners are published, selection processes are completed, and contracts are issued on-time, based on the approved annual work plans and budget (AWP\/B);<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Follow-up with OPIM partners on the timely submission of requests for funds, financial and progress reports to FAO as per OPIM reporting requirements;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Review requests from OPIM partners for provision of financial resources;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Ensure that payments are made according to the agreed schedule;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Maintain documentation and evidence that describes the appropriate and prudent use of project resources, making it available to FAO and designated auditors upon request;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Maintain a filing system of administrative and financial documents;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Select a variety of information from various sources (e.g., Intra-\/Internet, office files, FAO information and documentation) as required to support the work of the PMU;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Follow-up on deadlines for the PMU and other project personnel;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Compile background information and reference material as appropriate to support the NTPC;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Lead on logistics and the planning of project activities (meetings, workshops, travel, etc.) and mobilize required resources to ensure optimal time management and realization of the project\u2019s outcomes;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Maintain detailed records of budget estimates, obligations and available balances; participate in the consolidation of budget proposals; monitor project budgets to ensure accuracy of financial reports, budget estimates and financial planning; report variations from budgets;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Support the streamlining of procedures and practices and the introduction of new information technologies to the PMU;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Support the administration of personnel and equipment;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Perform other related duties as required.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\n<strong>Renumeration package: <\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A competitive compensation package is offered.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Applicants residing outside of Trinidad and Tobago will be subject to withholding tax at the rate applicable to the country in which they reside.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\n<strong>HOW TO APPLY:<\/strong>\r\n\r\nTo apply applicants are asked submit an <a href=\"https:\/\/sta.uwi.edu\/ffa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/BIO-RESILIENCE-Fillable-Job-Application-Form-NTC.pdf\"><strong>application form<\/strong><\/a>, a full curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation to the Business Development Unit,\u00a0 Faculty of Food and Agriculture, Frank Stockdale Building, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago, W.I. via email at <a href=\"mailto:bdu@sta.uwi.edu\"><strong>bdu@sta.uwi.edu<\/strong><\/a><strong><u>.<\/u><\/strong>\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\nApplications should be identified as <strong>Vacancy:<\/strong> <strong>Secretary \/ Administrative Assistant:<\/strong> <strong>BioResilience Project. <\/strong>\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\nThree (3) references (one of which should be from your present organization) must be indicated.
