FREN 2608 French Caribbean Women Writers
Pre-requisites: FREN 1600 or FREN 1601
A critical examination of the narrative techniques and thematic concerns of women writers from the French-speaking Caribbean. The course will focus on the works of Guadeloupean writers Condé and Pineau, and Haitian writers Danticat and Chauvet.
Method of Instruction: 2 lectures and 1 tutorial per week
Assessment: 40% in-course assessment (2 coursework assignments - 30% and 1 exposé/class participation - 10%), 60% final examination
