LING 2903 Structure and Usage of French-lexicon Creole 2 (Patois/Kwéyòl) (2)

Pre-requisites: LING 2902


This course is part two of a programme which is a foreign language course for non-native speakers and a course in structure, essential to later stages of undergraduate training in Caribbean Linguistics and in Francophone Caribbean Literature.

 

Knowledge of French is an advantage but it is not a pre-requisite. Students will be trained in oral and written expression and comprehension, as well as being instructed in the structure of the language. Problems of orthography, standardisation and instrumentalisation will also be discussed.

Method of Instruction: 6 contact hours per week
Assessment: 100% in-course assessment
