LING 5104 Teaching Practicum

Pre-requisites: LING 1001, LING 1002, LING 1005

This semester-long course gives teachers the opportunity to develop, via practical use, the skills, attitudes, and behaviours that are useful in teaching English to speakers of other languages. Without such a programme allowing for real teaching practice, the TESOL programme might remain a theoretical exercise. In addition, it allows for professional development by encouraging individual and group reflection on the teaching/learning exercise.

Method of Instruction: 3 weekly seminar hours
Assessment: 100% in-course assessment

This is a course on the Dip TESOL programme, and is normally offered in Semester 3 (Mid-Year/Summer Programme).
