OUR UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS
Students may obtain the following Undergraduate qualifications from the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics:
Undergraduate Certificates and Diplomas
Bachelor of Arts (BA)
The Department collaborates with other departments to offer Bachelor of Arts degrees in:
- BA English Language and Literature with Education (in conjunction with the School of Education)
- BA Speech and Language Science (in conjunction with the Faculty of Medical Sciences and others)
- BA Latin American Studies (with the Department of History)
- BA African and Asian Studies (with the Departments of History (FHE) and Government (FSS))
First degrees are awarded with honours classified into First Class, Second Class (with Upper and Lower divisions), or Pass.

OUR POSTGRADUATE DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS
Students may obtain the following postgraduate qualifications from the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics:
Postgraduate Diplomas
- PG Diploma in Interpreting Techniques
- PG Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
Master of Arts (MA)
The MA English Language is currently offered by the Open Campus.
Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
PhDs may be awarded with High Commendation.
