The Portuguese and Brazilian Studies Section
The Portuguese and Brazilian Studies Section currently offers the Minor in Brazilian Studies at the Undergraduate level.

Our programme is supported by a number of Study Abroad options. Students may consider Study Abroad opportunities at Brazilian and Portuguese universities that have agreements with The University of the West Indies (UWI).
Students considering Study Abroad options may major or minor in any field, especially those fields that have an interest in Brazil and the Portuguese language, such as Latin American Studies, Languages, Linguistics and International Relations.
For those envisaging teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) in Brazil or elsewhere in the Lusophone world, of interest are our Department's programmes in Linguistics. Specific Linguistics courses such as LING2803 Change and Development in Selected European Languages are also valuable to those learning Portuguese.
