Postgraduate programmes in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) comprehensively prepare students to teach English to speakers of English as a second, foreign, or additional language. The programmes aim to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge they need to teach English as a second language in a variety of settings, such as schools, universities, language institutes, and private language academies. It covers various aspects of language teaching, including language acquisition theory, curriculum design, classroom management, and teaching methods.<\/p>\n

Students will see a development or enhancement of multiple skills such as teaching skills (lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment), communication skills (listening, oral, written) cultural competence, language skills, and interpersonal skills, among others that will help them to confidently navigate the TESOL environment.<\/p>\n
Students will have key industry links, especially with Caribbean and international associations such as the Caribbean Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (CATEFL), the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL), TESOL International Association, in addition to national language schools and institutes, online job boards and professional development programmes.<\/p>\n
